This Privacy Policy explains how Iron Engine (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our engineering calculation platform at ironengine.ai (the “Service”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

2.Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name through our authentication provider. If you use third-party sign-in (e.g., Google or Microsoft), we receive the basic profile information authorized by that provider.

2.2 Usage Data

When you use the Service, we collect and store:

  • Solve history: The engineering problems you submit and the solutions generated by the Service, stored in our database to provide you with access to your past work
  • Usage metrics: Aggregated counts of API calls and solves for rate limiting and subscription quota management
  • User preferences: Your settings and preferences within the Service

2.3 Payment Information

We use Stripe to process payments. When you subscribe, your payment information (such as credit card details) is collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card information on our servers. We receive only limited billing details from Stripe necessary to manage your subscription (such as subscription status and billing cycle dates). Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not use analytics cookies or third-party tracking tools. We do not collect browsing behavior, device fingerprints, or location data beyond what is technically necessary to serve web requests (such as IP addresses in standard server logs).

3.How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including processing your engineering problems and returning solutions
  • Maintain your solve history so you can access past work
  • Manage your subscription and process payments
  • Enforce rate limits and usage quotas associated with your subscription tier
  • Communicate with you about your account or changes to the Service
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Service

4.Third-Party Data Sharing

We share your data with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:

4.1 AI Service Providers

To solve engineering problems, the text of your submitted problems is sent to third-party AI model providers for analysis and planning. These providers process your problem text to generate solution plans. They do not receive your account information, payment details, or solve history — only the text of the specific problem being solved.

4.2 Payment Processing

Stripe processes your payment transactions. See Section 2.3 above.

4.3 Infrastructure Providers

Our Service runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your data is stored and processed within AWS infrastructure. AWS acts as a data processor on our behalf and is subject to AWS's data processing agreements.

4.4 No Sale of Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not use your submitted engineering problems to train AI models.

5.Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in AWS infrastructure in the United States. We implement the following security measures:

  • Encrypted data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) for protection against common web exploits
  • Authentication with configurable multi-factor authentication
  • Per-user rate limiting to prevent abuse
  • Application-level access controls ensuring users can only access their own data

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6.Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, which will result in the deletion of:

  • Your account information
  • Your solve history and conversation records
  • Your user preferences
  • Your usage metrics

Upon account deletion, your data will be removed from our active databases. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period consistent with our backup retention schedule before being permanently deleted.

If you have an active paid subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account to avoid further charges.

7.Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can access your solve history and account information through the Service at any time
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data as described in Section 6
  • Correction: You can update your account information through your account settings
  • Data portability: You can export your solve results through the Service's export features

8.International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We aim to handle all user data with care and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, regardless of your location.

9.Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
