Steel beam design

Design a simply supported W-section steel beam for a 6 m span carrying a 15 kN/m uniformly distributed load. Use ASTM A992 steel and check both flexural and deflection limits.

Stud wall check

Check a 2x4 Douglas Fir stud wall, 8 ft height, 16 in on-center, carrying a 500 plf axial load and 10 psf wind on the wall face.

Concrete column

Design a tied reinforced concrete column for an 800 kN axial dead load and 200 kN live load. Use a 400 mm × 400 mm cross-section, f'c = 30 MPa, fy = 420 MPa.
